Calcutta is in turmoil after the rape and murder of a doctor in a Kolkata hospital. Last night, the women held a program of ‘Midnight Occupy’. Apart from common people, Tollywood stars also participated in it.

Mimi Chakraborty posted a video on her Instagram. It can be seen that the night city has become full of slogans. In its caption, the actress writes, ‘Judgment delayed means avoiding justice. Today every corner of our happy city is crying. Because we as humans fail. Every street is clamoring for justice.’
Reiterating an earlier post, Mimi wrote, ‘The punishment should be such that the next time one thinks of such a heinous crime, the spine shivers. No mercy.’
Another picture that went viral on Instagram shows countless people. Subhasree Ganguly, Arindam Sheel, Parno Mitra stand among them. Many have placards. Some of them have clenched fists, some of them have justice written on them.
Actor Kaushik Sen’s son Riddhi Sen also walked the streets of the night. Posting a picture of him, he wrote, ‘Don’t be good on this good night. Show anger, show anger. Roar against the darkness in this dying light.’
Several stars of Kolkata’s small screen also participated in last night’s procession. Tanushree Goswami of ‘Neem Phule Madhu’ fame, Kakia of ‘Anurag Chowya’ as well as Sayantani Mallick, Divya Jyoti Dutta, Trina Saha, Ritabrata Mukherjee were also on the way.
