Turkey will keep the skies open for Russian aircraft

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that the country will not close airspace to Russian aircraft. Turkey is also ready to organize a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Russia and Ukraine during the diplomatic forum, which will be held in Antalya from 11 to 13 March.

“It is important not only for Turkey, but also for the countries that impose these sanctions, and their citizens, that the airspace is open … both in strategic and humanitarian terms,” Mr. Cavusoglu said.

The airspace for Russian aircraft was closed by the United States, Canada, as well as the EU countries in response to the Russian military operation in Ukraine. Rosaviatsia, in response, closed the sky of the country for 37 states.
