Turkey’s Yasemin Can, already crowned in 2016, won the 10,000m at the European Athletics Championships on Monday in Munich (Germany). Six years after his coronation in Amsterdam, at only 19 years old, Can (25) did it again on Monday in 30 min 32 sec 57 to beat the Briton Eilish McColgan and the Israeli Lonah Salpeter, bronze medalist in the marathon at the Worlds in Eugene ( United States) last month.

Eilish McColgan thus completes the collection of family medals in the 10,000 m, after the podiums of her mother Liz at the Olympic Games in Seoul (2nd in 1988) and at the Worlds (champion in 1991).

Dutchman Jessica Schilder distinguished herself in the shot put by winning the title with the first throw of her career over 20m (20.24m), the best European performance of the season.
