Turkish intelligence chief lands in Tripoli, holds talks with Dbeibah and vice presidents

Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin visited Tripoli on Thursday, where he held a series of meetings with Libyan officials to discuss recent political developments in the country and ways to enhance stability and advance the political process.

Kalin met with the head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, where they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and issues of common interest, including the ongoing events in Gaza, stressing the need for joint action to support regional stability and protect civilians.

Kalin also met with the two deputies in the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi and Musa Al-Koni, where the meeting focused on the need to reach consensual solutions between the Libyan parties through a comprehensive national dialogue, in a way that ensures the preservation of the country’s unity and stability.

During the meeting, Al-Koni and Al-Lafi stressed the importance of resorting to the pure national will in facing the current challenges, stressing that the current stage requires the solidarity of all Libyans to reach a comprehensive political settlement.

The two representatives also pointed out the importance of the international community, including Turkey, supporting the dialogue process that enhances the chances of reaching a political solution that ends the crisis and achieves the aspirations of the Libyan people to build a democratic and stable state.

These meetings come at a time when disagreements are escalating over the Presidential Council’s decisions to change the governor and board of directors of the Central Bank of Libya.
