“As we entered Karabakh, as we entered Libya, we can do the same to them,” RT Erdogan said at an event for his ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Rize on the Black Sea, referring to Israel.

During the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, RT Erdogan supported Azerbaijan, providing drones and other military support. Ankara also supports the internationally recognized government of Libya with military equipment and personnel.

In his speech, RT Erdogan praised the progress of Turkey’s defense industry. “There’s nothing we can’t do. We just have to be strong,” he said.

Relations between Israel and Turkey have deteriorated sharply since the start of the Gaza war in October. RT Erdogan calls the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas a “liberation organization” and compared Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler. In mid-July, RT Erdoğan stated that he would not support any cooperation between NATO and Israel as long as the war in the Gaza Strip continues.
