Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: Turkey recalled its ambassador to Israel, Shakir Ozkan Turunlar, stressing that this was against the backdrop of the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza caused by Israel’s continued attacks against civilians.

Israeli Channel 12 reported that the Turkish ambassador to Israel was summoned to Ankara for consultations.

For its part, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that, in light of the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza caused by Israel’s continued attacks against civilians, and Israel’s rejection of calls for a ceasefire and the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid, it was decided to summon our ambassador in Tel Aviv, Shakir Ozkan Turunlar, to Ankara for consultations.

Earlier today, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of being primarily responsible for the attacks against the Gaza Strip.

Honduras also announced today that it was recalling its ambassador to Israel “for consultation” in light of the serious humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
