Tuticorin: The police have registered a case against 13 people, including three DMK councillors, in the attack on BJP state vice-president Sasikala Pushpa’s house. A case has also been registered against Sasikala Pushpa for threatening Minister Geethajeevan. The house of BJP State Vice President Sasikala Pushpa was attacked yesterday in Tuticorin.

On the basis of a complaint filed by Kani Rathinaraj, Secretary of the BJP campaign unit of Thoothukudi district, Chipgat police investigated and registered a case against 13 persons including Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation DMK Councilors Ramakrishnan, Isakkiraja, another councilor from Duvipuram (name not given) and Ravindran, husband of one of the councilors, under 5 sections including death threats. .

The police said that DMK councilor Ramakrishnan has been arrested and is being investigated and others are on the lookout.

Case against Sasikala Pushpa: On the 21st, a Christmas and welfare program distribution ceremony was held by the BJP in Thoothukudi. Sinivasan, DMK youth wing secretary of Thoothukudi North District, complained that BJP State Vice President Sasikala Pushpa had spoken threateningly to Minister Geethajeevan. Accordingly, Vadabhagam police have registered a case against Sasikala Pushpa under 3 sections including threatening to kill.

142 arrested: Meanwhile, BJP members marched to besiege Minister Geethajeevan’s house in Thoothukudi, demanding the arrest of DMK members against whom a case has been registered. The police stopped them and arrested 142 people including BJP state general secretary Pon Balaganapathi.
