Students sensitized to fight extremism and violent radicalization in Houndé
Houndé, November 24, 2024 (AIB) – The Tuy provincial directorate of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity hosted an educational talk on violent extremism and radicalization, Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Saint Alex private high school in Houndé.The objective was to make students into activists in the fight against these phenomena to strengthen social cohesion and living together.
The provincial directorate of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity plans to strengthen social cohesion and living together with the help of students in Tuy province.
On Thursday, November 21, 2024, one of their teams discussed with students from the private high school Saint Alex in Houndé about the concepts of extremism and violent radicalism.
For an hour,the facilitators informed the students about the causes,manifestations and consequences of these phenomena. They also discussed strategies to counter violent extremism and radicalisation.
To prevent violent extremism, the facilitators invited students to cultivate values such as love of neighbor, patriotism, religious tolerance, community communication and good governance.
At the end of the speech, Jean de Dieu Kaboré, agent at the provincial directorate of Humanitarian action and National Solidarity of tuy, was very happy with the interest shown by the students, welcoming their active participation to exchanges.
According to him, this initiative also aims to relay students in the fight against violent extremism, radicalism and terrorism within their communities.
The students particularly enjoyed this talk. Déborah Koussoubé said: “We must love each other despite our differences and love our homeland.»
For his part, Aristide Sanon is resolute to raise awareness among his people to fight against this scourge.
as a reminder, these educational discussions, which began on November 15, will continue until December 15, 2024. They concern secondary establishments in seven municipalities of Tuy province.
