TV Claims: “Ligue 1 is taking a major step backwards”

Le Havre-Paris Saint-Germain marks the first poster of the new Ligue 1 season this evening at 8:45 pm (Paris time). The match will be broadcast on “DAZN”, the British platform called the “Netflix of sports”. This new major player in the French league is now the main broadcaster, broadcasting eight out of nine Ligue 1 games each weekend. The final match will be broadcast by BeIn Sports. Negotiations on TV rights ended a few days ago with the Professional Football League: 400 million euros annually paid by Dazn, 100 million euros for BeIn Sports. So we have to add 160 million euros for international rights, 40 million also for Ligue 2, that’s a total of 700 million.
