Gregor Townsend made 12 changes to his team to face Ireland at the Stade de France from the starting XV that beat Romania in the third group match, with captain Jamie Ritchie returning to the back row.

Jamie Ritchie is Scotland captain for the 15th time, in his 46th cap, after replacing Luke Crosbie as flanker. He has led Scotland to victory in eight of his last 14 appearances as captain. Blair Kinghorn will make his 50th cap for Scotland, more than five and a half years after making his debut as a substitute against England in February 2018.
