DMK provided opportunities for 11 women; Auto driving competition on behalf of Congress
Chennai: The DMK leadership yesterday released the list of candidates for the posts of mayor and deputy mayor in 20 corporations. It features 11 women.
DMK has registered a landslide victory in the urban local government elections. The party has captured 21 corporations in Tamil Nadu.
Following this, the DMK has held talks with the coalition parties and shared the posts of mayor, deputy mayor, mayor and mayor.
Accordingly, the post of mayor of Kumbakonam has been allotted to the Congress party. The post of Deputy Mayor of Tirupur was allotted to the Communist Party of India.
In this context, the DMK yesterday released the list of candidates for the by-elections to be held for the posts of mayor and deputy mayor.
Accordingly, Priya is contesting for the post of Mayor of Chennai. Indrani has been fielded for the post of Madurai mayor and Kalpana for the post of Coimbatore mayor.
It has been announced that Erode Corporation (Nagaratnam), Tambaram Corporation (Vasanthakumari) and Vellore Corporation (Sujatha) will contest.
Also competing are Sundari in Cuddalore, Kavita Ganesan in Karur, Mahalakshmi in Kanchipuram, SA Satya in Hosur and Sangeetha Inbam in Sivakasi.
All of these are sure to succeed.
Auto driver K. Saravanan is contesting for the post of Kumbakonam Corporation mayor on behalf of the Congress.
The 42-year-old has studied up to class X. He has held some responsibilities in the Congress party for the last ten years and is currently the city vice-president. He contested and won the election for the first time.
