Bill prohibiting disclosure
The bill has been sent to the French National Assembly for approval following the Senate’s refusal to vote on a draft bill banning the display of religious identities at sporting events in France.
The bill contains a clause amended by the Conservative upper house. It states that the disclosure of religious identities is ‘prohibited’ at events and competitions organized by sports associations.
The bill is being opposed by the government in the lower house and its allies. The final vote on the bill is set to take place in the National Assembly.
T20 ICC Rankings: South African tops the list
