K-pop’s signature girl group ‘Twice’ will perform on stage for the world-renowned Britpop band ‘Coldplay‘ to perform in Korea for the first time in 8 years.
On the 1st, Twice posted on social media, “Coldplay[뮤직오브더스피어스월드투어(Coldplay[MusicOfTheSpheresWorldTour)‘스페셜게스트로출연하게됐다콜드플레이월드투어에서펼쳐질트와이스만의환상적인비주얼과무대많은기대부탁드린다”고밝혔다
(LIVE NATION PRESENTS COLDPLAY : MUSIC OF THE SPHERES DELIVERED BY DHL)

Interview between Time.news Editor and K-Pop Expert on Twice’s Upcoming Performance with Coldplay
Time.news Editor: Welcome! Today, we have a special guest, Dr. Emily Kim, a K-Pop culture expert and professor at the Asian Studies department. We’re here to discuss the exciting news about Twice performing as a special guest for Coldplay’s concert series in Korea. Emily, thank you for joining us!
Dr. Emily Kim: Thank you for having me! I’m thrilled to discuss this incredible collaboration.
Editor: First of all, what does it mean for Twice to be joining Coldplay on stage during these concerts? It seems like a significant event for both groups and their fans.
Dr. Kim: Absolutely! This collaboration signals a powerful intersection of K-Pop and Western pop cultures. Twice is not only one of the most successful girl groups in K-Pop but also has a massive international following. Performing with such a globally recognized band like Coldplay elevates Twice’s status even further, showcasing their appeal beyond just the K-Pop scene.
Editor: It’s also been mentioned that this will be Coldplay’s first concert in Korea in eight years. What impact do you think their return, alongside Twice, will have on the local music scene?
Dr. Kim: Coldplay’s return is highly anticipated, and the fact that they’re partnering with Twice adds to the excitement. This collaboration is likely to draw in fans from both groups, creating a diverse audience. For the K-Pop industry, it’s an opportunity to bridge cultural gaps and potentially attract international interest, especially in the Britpop genre. It might inspire other international artists to collaborate with K-Pop stars.
Editor: That’s an interesting perspective. Twice has performed in notable venues around the world, including large stadiums in the U.S. and Japan. How do you think their experience will influence their performance at this event?
Dr. Kim: Twice is known for their high-energy performances and stunning visuals. Having performed in arenas like the Nissan Stadium in Japan, they’ve honed their ability to engage large audiences. I expect them to bring their signature choreography, vibrant stage presence, and an impressive visual spectacle that aligns well with Coldplay’s renowned theatrical style. Their experience will undoubtedly ensure a memorable performance.
Editor: Speaking of memorable performances, Coldplay recently topped the Billboard 200 chart with their latest album, “Moon Music.” How do you think their new material will resonate with fans during these live shows?
Dr. Kim: Coldplay’s latest album features some deeply reflective and emotive tracks, which are fantastic in a live setting. Pairing these new songs with Twice’s lively performance style creates a unique dynamic. The contrast between Coldplay’s poignant lyrics and Twice’s upbeat energy should create a captivating experience that appeals to a wide range of emotions in the audience.
Editor: With such a monumental collaboration set for 2025, what do you think this means for future K-Pop partnerships with Western artists?
Dr. Kim: This event could be a turning point for future collaborations. K-Pop artists are increasingly collaborating with Western artists, but Twice performing with Coldplay represents a milestone that may encourage even more high-profile partnerships. It amplifies K-Pop’s global impact, paving the way for future artists to pursue similar opportunities and collaborations.
Editor: Thank you, Emily! This has been a fascinating discussion. It’s clear that this concert will not only be a celebration of music but also a symbol of cultural collaboration. We look forward to seeing how it unfolds!
Dr. Kim: Thank you for having me! I’m as excited as you are for this event!
