The whole country has been shaken by the incident of brutal rape of a doctor in Kolkata. Twinkle Khanna has also expressed her opinion after this incident. Twinkle Khanna said that when she was young, her mother had taught her not to go to the park, school or beach alone and now she is also teaching the same to her daughter.
Twinkle wrote in her post that she has taught her daughter that she should not go out alone with her uncle or any other man. She should not go out alone in the morning and should not go out alone at night even by mistake. It is possible that if you do this, you may never be able to return home.

I feel scared for my daughters
Twinkle’s statement clearly shows that every mother and every daughter’s parents in the country are worried about their safety. The solution to this is not to teach daughters but to give good values to sons. Know how you can teach your son to respect women.
Be a role model yourself
Be the best example for your son. The respect you show women influences his views. Show him how to treat women with respect.
Apart from this, teach your son that all human beings, irrespective of their gender, should get equal respect. Give information about women’s rights, freedom, and their contribution to society.
Talk about issues related to women
Communicate with your son regularly. Give him the opportunity to express his views on women-related issues and discuss these topics openly with him.
Try to develop a positive attitude towards women in your son. Provide him with the right information and attitude about women, so that he can treat them with respect and honour.
Ethics and respect
Also explain the connection between morality and respect. Explain to her that disrespectful behaviour towards women is not only against morality but it also promotes inequality and discrimination in society. Teach her that treating any woman badly, whether through words or actions, harms not only the woman but also the society.
