It is an event that is eagerly awaited by subscribers. The Z Event, a great charity video game race bringing together dozens of French streaming services, will return from September 6 to 8 in Montpellier and live on the Twitch platform, two years after its last edition, the organizers announced on Sunday.
Organized by ZeratoR Stream, who confirmed a few months ago that the event will start again this year, this 2024 edition presents the presence of thirty web stars, including YouTuber Joueur du Grenier, Baghera Jones, Antoine Daniel, Domingo or even Ponce, Ultia and Zerator. The announcement has already made people happy: “that’s amazing”, “good”, “great list”, Internet users cheered on X, although some pointed to the absence of the Inoxtag videographer.
The organizers also announced that around a hundred other streams will participate online. Those interested must register by connecting via Twitch and add their Discord account before August 23, 11:59 pm, explains Event Z website. “We will select the 100 streams with the most hours watched in the last 365 days,” he explained. The full list of selected streams will be published at the end of August.
There are many groups that support vulnerable people
According to the selection program posted on social networks, this video game Race will make it possible to win prizes this year for five groups: Secours populaire, Cop 1 Student Solidarities (aid to students in need), Chapter 2 (insert vulnerable young people), Bureaux du cœur (accommodating people in very dire situations in company offices), and Solidarité paysans (fighting against discrimination in rural area). In 2022, the previous edition raised a record 10 million euros for environmental groups.
It will start on Friday, July 6 at 6 pm on the participants’ channels, and the event will continue until September 8. It will be preceded by a concert scheduled for September 5 at the Zénith in Montpellier, whose program has not yet been announced. The doors will open at 6 p.m., the organizers have already indicated, having explained that tickets will be available soon.
The Z event is actually divided into two stages: “a concert that serves as a primer and is followed by a marathon on Twitch during which many professional players gather throughout the weekend”, explains his site. “For more than 50 hours, the participants broadcast live content together and encourage viewers to mobilize to support a common cause,” he explained, recalling that the initiative was launched in 2016 by Adrien Nougaret and Alexandre Dachary.
