Musk was responding to an investigation by San Francisco officials into the bedrooms at Twitter headquarters.

Over the past few weeks, several conference rooms at Twitter’s offices have been converted into makeshift bedrooms, with bedside tables and chairs set aside for tired employees. A news report suggests that the Twitter headquarters may have “four to eight rooms per floor.”

San Francisco building inspectors have criticized Twitter for turning many of its offices into sleeping quarters for employees. In response to the criticism, Musk said, “The City of San Francisco is criticizing companies that provide beds for exhausted employees instead of ensuring that children are safe from fentanyl.”
