Twitter is restarting paid subscriptions from December 12

by time news

The Twitter Blue subscription will restart on Monday, December 12, the social network said. Its owners will be able to edit publications, upload videos at 1080p resolution, and also receive a blue check mark after account verification. The cost will be $8 per month for the web version and $11 for the iOS version.

Twitter also intends to introduce gold checkmarks for companies and gray checkmarks for “government and multilateral accounts.” Subscribers will be able to change their names on the social network, but the blue checkmark in this case will disappear until a new verification is carried out. The subscription only works in a few countries, including the US and UK.

The Twitter Blue subscription existed before, but it did not include verification and cost $4.99. After buying the social network, Elon Musk decided to add new features to the subscription and increase its cost. Its launch took place in early November, but was suspended due to errors in account verification.
