Police have arrested two people who sold beef illegally.

On Saturday, when the police conducted a surprise raid in Kolthamajalu village, Panthwal district of South Kannada district, it was found that some people were selling beef illegally. The police caught the people red-handed when they were cooking beef in a box behind their house. In this connection, the police have arrested both Muhammad Ismail (47) and Sabit Hussain (18) from the same village. The police confiscated 80 kg of beef worth Rs 21 thousand and Rs 4500 in cash from them. Apart from this, the police seized items such as knives and scales. In this regard, a case has been registered under section 4, 12 of the Karnataka Cow Prohibition Act, 2020 and is being investigated.
