## Vienna: Terror Plan Averted, Taylor Swift Concerts Cancelled
VIENNA. Two arrests and a potential massacre were narrowly averted in Vienna after a sensational terrorist plan targeting the concerts of global superstar Taylor Swift was foiled by local authorities.
The American singer, currently on tour in Europe, was scheduled to perform at the Ernst Happel Stadium in the Austrian capital on August 8, 9, and 10 as part of her Eras Tour. However, organizers proactively cancelled the three concerts as a precautionary measure following the police investigation.
The two suspects were apprehended by police within hours of each other. The first, a 19-year-old resident of Lower Austria, was arrested in a small town an hour’s drive from Vienna. He had allegedly pledged allegiance to the terrorist organization ISIS. The second suspect, whose age was not disclosed, was arrested in Vienna itself.
“When we received confirmation of the planned terrorist attack at the Ernst Happel Stadium, we had no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for the safety of everyone involved,” Barracuda Music wrote on Instagram, which manages Taylor Swift’s concerts. The company estimated that approximately 65,000 fans would be affected by the cancellations and promised to issue refunds.
