BOLZANO. The Carabinieri of Laives and Bronzolo have successfully concluded a joint investigation regarding the theft of two bicycles and other valuable objects which occurred on the night between 10 and 11 December 2024 in Saint James.
During the night, unknown persons had forced an overhead door and entered a garage attached to a house. The criminals stole two bicycles, one muscular and one electric, from total value of approximately 5,000 eurosas well as two motorcycle helmets. The stolen goods were not covered by insurance.
With the help of video surveillance images of the garage access tunnel and other technological aids, the police were able to obtain fundamental elements to reconstruct what happened: they identified the place where the bicycles had been deposited, a condominium in via Palermo in Bolzano.
The raid then began and the military, with the help of the Carabinieri from the Terlano station, carried out a search and found both bikes. A twenty-year-old resident of Bolzano was reported for receiving stolen goods.
The two stolen bicycles were immediately returned to the owner. The investigation will continue to clarify whether the twenty-year-old took part in the theft or, as he declared, purchased the bikes on the black market.
