PTAC informs that the started repatriation of 81 travelers from the Spanish campsite to Latvia is proceeding successfully, and both buses will reach Riga on Monday.

Also, on Saturday, August 10, the procedure for the repatriation of 66 tourists, including 55 minors, was started for a group of travelers who traveled back from Portugal to Latvia with the “Fisom” bus organized by the trip organizer, but the bus had technical problems and the organizer was unable to bring the travelers to Latvia.

PTAC states that the repatriation service providers managed to find available buses, so the tourists are currently continuing their journey to Latvia. The group is expected to leave Warsaw on Monday evening.

The repatriation of three groups of travelers has been started in connection with the inability of “Fisom” to fulfill its obligations and the established liquidity problems of the merchant.

Considering that PTAC has canceled the tour operator’s license, further trips will not take place. PTAC will inform about the process of refunding the contributions in the near future, because currently the priority is to bring the tourists, most of whom are children, back to Latvia.

PTAC continues to be in communication with the children’s parents and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and will post more detailed information about the repatriation progress and current events on the PTAC website.

It was previously announced that on Thursday, August 8, the insurance company “Balcia” received four applications from clients whose children went to a camp in Portugal, but the organizers disappeared without a trace and the children did not return home, the insurer informed the agency LETA. It is said to have immediately started to resolve the situation by organizing transportation to the airport and a flight home for these children.

After the representatives of “Balcia” mentioned about the situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and PTAC were also immediately informed, offering the support of the insurer’s experts in organizing the repatriation flight, so that the rest of the children, who are not clients of “Balcia”, would also be given the opportunity to return home as soon as possible.

Information from “Firmas.lv” shows that in 2022 the turnover of the company was 356,396 euros, but the company worked with a loss of 33,452 euros. The financial results of 2023 have not yet been made public.

The company “Fisom” was registered in 2021, and its share capital is 7,500 euros. The sole owner of the company is its chairman Matīss Dahlbergs.
