The authorities of Romania have reported that the casualties from an explosion at a liquefied petroleum gas station in Bucharest have risen to two dead and 58 injured.
According to the Romanian news portal Mediafax, 43 of the injured are workers, and all of them have been transferred to hospitals -both national and international, because Romania does not have enough centers to treat burns– to receive medical treatment.
The station where the incident took place had no environmental authorization for three yearsas indicated by the National Environmental Protection Agency.
According to Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, all seasons gas they will be subject to control for greater transparency and information on irregularities. “When objects and loads are found that may cause loss of human life or endanger people, the activities will be closed,” it adds.
The attorney general, Alex Florenta, has reported that irregularities have been detected that would have caused the explosions, by observing a transfer between two tanks, while a person would have thrown a lit cigarette on the asphalt.
