TRENTO. Two mountain victims in a few hours on Saturday 31 August. And a tragedy at high altitude in the early afternoon in Adamello, Trentino: shortly after 1pm a mountaineer died after a 200 meter flight on the Cima Payer via ferratabetween the Corno di Lago Scuro and the Pisgana glacier, at an altitude of approximately 3,000 metres. This is Fabrizio Longodirector of Audi Italia. The 62-year-old, originally from Rimini but who has long lived between Lombardy and Veneto, he was walking alone on the via ferrata that leads to the summit. The call to the Single Emergency Number 112 came around 1:15 PM from a person who was in the area and saw the climber fall. The Pinzolo Alpine Rescue operators, after flying over the area with the Civil Protection helicopter, located the man about 200 meters below the summit. The helicopter rescue technician and the medical team were landed on site but the doctor could do nothing but confirm the death of the climber.
Born in Rimini in 1962, Longo graduated in Political Science in Rome, began his career at Fiat Auto in 1987, holding positions of increasing responsibility in marketing. In 2002 he assumed responsibility for the Italian market for the Lancia brand. After experiences at Bmw Italia, Piaggio and Toyota Italia he then moved to Audi Italia in 2013.
A German hiker lost her life in an accident while hiking on Alta Via number 2, under the Farangole Pass towards Mount Rosetta, in the Comelle Valley, in the territory of Canale d’Agordo (Belluno).
At around 10am, the Suem 118 emergency centre was contacted by a man who had seen his hiking companion fall. The woman – according to reports – was tripped while falling from a rock jump and disappearing from his sight.
