Two Israeli women were killed today (Friday) in a serious car accident in the mountainous Kada area – about 40 km from Batumi in Georgia. This was reported on the Ynet website.

The injured were rushed to three hospitals in the area, and some were put into an operating room.

Rabbi Zavi Mendelson, the Chabad emissary in Batumi, arrived at the hospitals and is helping the injured with a team of volunteers.

The Georgian media reported that the accident occurred near the village of Makhontesti, when a minibus transporting tourists collided with a truck.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the tourist minibus was on its way to Mahonchaty Falls. The local police started investigating the circumstances of the accident.
