Two Latvian triathletes will measure the historic route in honor of the anniversary of the Baltic Way /

The film will also meet those who once stood on the Baltic road and those who have already managed to grow up in these 35 years. Famous people from different generations in the Baltic States will share their stories in order to find answers to how each of us understands freedom in music, travel, art, sports, environment, sexual freedom and everyday life.

Ajen and Lukas will start their journey on Friday, July 19, in Tallinn at 09.00 with swimming in Lake Harku and around At 14.00 the distance will continue with bicycles, passing through Latvia and finishing the distance with a run in Lithuania. Athletes will cross the Latvian border on Saturday early in the morning and around At 09.00 a stop at the Freedom Monument is planned (the time may change depending on the conditions of the distance). The finish is scheduled for Sunday in Vilnius in the period from 07.00 to 11.00. Everyone interested is invited to meet and support the athletes on the planned route, following the distance covered by both the athletes (as well as on the official Go3 social network “Instagram” account –

Triathletes who will complete this distance are also active in other projects. Ayjen Trušin conducts various events for children and adults on a daily basis, as well as participates in advertising and film projects. Acting and getting into different characters is his passion.

“With this project, I want to remind myself and the people around me how important things we can accomplish by joining hands.” Those people who joined hands 35 years ago believed they could do the almost unthinkable. These people inspired me, and hopefully our project in their honor will inspire others to express their freedom and value it,” said Ayjen.

Lukas Lappuķe grew up in several European countries, but from 2018 he returned to Latvia altogether. His professional life revolves around innovation and data management, which he currently performs in the field of insurance. Lukas has already completed marathons, ultramarathons, Ironman triathlon distance and is always looking for new challenges.

“This project marks my return “home” and I want it to be a reminder to everyone about the happiness that is freedom. My goal with this huge physical and mental challenge is to highlight the unity and courage of our forefathers, as well as to inspire young people today to join hands with their neighbors to stand up for our common values,” says Lukas.

The triathlon in honor of the Baltic Way will be immortalized in the documentary film “United in Freedom”, which will be shown on Go3 television from August 23 – the 35th anniversary of the Baltic Way.
