Police said that two workers of the Colombo Municipal Council fell into a waste water evaporation pit while they were on duty.
A person who was engaged in repairing a waste water evaporation pit in Kotanchenai area of Colombo fell into the said pit yesterday on Monday.
The police also said that when the other person went down into the sewage gasification pit to save him, he also fell into the sewage gasification pit.
The police said that the two who fell into the sewage gasification pit in critical condition died after being admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.
