Kottayam> Two nursing students drowned while taking bath in Kitangur- Padua Pannagam stream. Both are second year BSc nursing students at Travancore College of Nursing, Kollam. Ajmal (21) from Karunagapally and Vajan (21) from Varkala drowned.
The accident took place when the four-member group reached the house of their classmate in Padua and took a bath at Mudapalakadu in the evening. The incident happened around 5:30 pm. Out of the four people who took bath, two people drowned in the water. The missing persons were brought out from Pala by the fire force team.
By the time Ajmal was brought to the shore, he was already dead. He was taken to Cherpungal Medical Center and treated, but his life could not be saved. Ayarkunnam police and locals joined the rescue operations.
