Two of Intel’s big announcements at the CES show are made in blue and white

by time news

The CES show is usually characterized by cool products and gadgets, and it’s hard to talk about processors that are perceived as a more “boring” field. Therefore, processor and chip companies are looking for a way to make domain information accessible in a simple way – and an example of this is Apple, which makes great graphics to revive the domain. At this week’s CES show, Intel has launched its new 12th generation laptop processor, the Core i9-12900HK.

The new Halder Lake processor (name of the series) has signed a record of up to 40% improvement over the previous generation, with the company of course showing better capabilities compared to competitors in the market, with Apple at the top of the list. The new processor offers support for DDR5 and LPDDR, memory components, as well as WiFi 6E and Intel’s dedicated Thunderbolt 4 connection. Intel’s 12th generation Core processors have a power consumption of 45 watts, and they come with up to 14 cores: 6 performance cores and 8 efficient cores.

Intel Israel is especially proud of the processor in question, because the Core i9-12900HK, is an almost completely blue-and-white product. According to Intel, the vast majority – from design to production is done in the country. In addition, Intel has announced another 22 new desktops that will be powered by 35 and 65 watts. Alongside this, Intel has announced its intention to launch Elder Lake processors for thin and light laptops that will come with up to 10 cores and Iris Xe-based graphics.

Not just processors

Last month, Intel acquired ScreenBite, an Israeli start-up that seeks to streamline the daily user experience. ScreenBate’s product actually synchronizes the variety of different devices in our lives: computers, tablets, smartphones, watches and more. The great thing about this company is that synchronization also happens in different operating systems that do not communicate with each other.

So in fact, the user can combine the various actions on his devices, such as transferring a file easily between the products, seeing an SMS on the computer (even if it is an iPhone) and more. Another example that Intel gave is the display of data from a smartwatch on a computer.

This week Intel announced that this technology will be integrated into the premium models of Intel’s Evo line of laptops, in the company’s personal computing division. Although at the moment it really will only be on these platforms, but later explores the possibility even in a situation where the processor is not from Intel.
