It has been reported that two culprits involved in the double murder that took place in two separate places on Thursday night in Chengalpattu were shot dead in a police encounter.
செங்கல்பட்டு கே. Appu Karthik (29), son of Meghnaz, a vegetable trader from Atimugha in K. Street. He came to the tea shop on Thursday to drink tea. The gang of three men who followed Karthi in a two-wheeler hurled a grenade at Karthik, stabbed him with a knife and fled. Appu Karthi died on the spot.
The same mob that escaped also hacked to death Mahesh (22), the son of vegetable trader Seenuvasan, in Chengalpattu High Street.
Police have registered a case and have been searching for the culprits since last night.
Meanwhile, two policemen were injured when a country bomb exploded at four policemen, including a woman involved in a murder case lurking near Mamandur Palaru. Subsequently, Dinesh and Moideen were killed when police opened fire in self-defense.
It has been reported that the bodies of the two have been taken to the government hospital in Chengalpattu.
