Before the Sabbath, President Yitzhak Herzog extended Likud Chairman Binyamin Netanyahu’s task of forming the government by ten more days, until Wednesday in a week and a half. This gave Netanyahu another opportunity to bridge the gaps between the parties of the future coalition, including his own party. After the treasury files, Interior and health, Netanyahu is also considering rotation in the foreign affairs portfolio, for two to two years, according to a publication by colleague Amit Segal. According to the publication, it is possible that Netanyahu’s preferred candidate from the beginning, Ron Dermer, will serve in the position for the second half.
Meanwhile, the Likud does not wish to publish in the coalition agreements the details of the reforms in the field of law, with the exception of one general paragraph, due to the length of the negotiations and the much legislation required. Also, it is not at all certain that the legal legislation will begin before the summer conference.
