Tamil Nadu has had two recognized national parties removed from their list, with a new addition expected. The national parties recognized in Tamil Nadu include BJP, Congress, Marxist, Indian Communist, Nationalist Congress, Trinamul Congress, and Bahujan Samaj, while DMK, ADMK, and DMDK were recognized as state parties. Only these recognized parties are invited to Election Commission meetings and are provided with voter lists, and they can compete on a unique symbol that other parties cannot use. The Election Commission decides the percentage of votes obtained in each election and the number of MLAs, MPs. In recent updates, the Nationalist Congress, Trinamul Congress, Communist Party of India, and Communist Party of India lost their national party status, while Aam Aadmi Party gained the status of a new national party. Therefore, Nationalist Congress and Trinamul Congress have been removed from the list of recognized parties in Tamil Nadu, and Aam Aadmi will be added. The Communist Party of India will be included in the list according to its state status. The Election Commission officials mentioned that if the DMK does not receive significant votes in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, they will lose their recognition from the Election Commission.
