Two people lost their lives and two more were poisoned after a fire broke out in a storm drain where they lived and which, presumably, they themselves caused, this during the morning of this Wednesday in the city of Aguascalientes.

Personal of Civil protection together with Municipal police reported the rescue of two people alive from the sewer located to the east of the city, between the intersection of Aguascalientes and Alameda avenues, although they were intoxicated by carbon monoxide.

They indicate that the rescued people are a 27-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man, who were transferred to a medical unit to receive care.

On the other hand, they also report the recovery of bodies of two people who have not yet been identified and who allegedly they would have died due to intoxication.

Those involved are homeless that used to be installed in this type of city sewer.

Authorities point out that the fire may have been generated by the same victims who were stealing copper of the electrical wiring, generating a instant spark, which reached a portion of grass in the area and completely covered the storm drain with flames.

The State Attorney General’s Office mentions that it is investigating the facts to determine responsibilities.
