The Public Prosecutor ordered the detention of two people, including an officer, in connection with the seizure of 128 kilograms of cocaine after his arrival from Ecuador in early March.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office stated on its Facebook page that the Public Prosecutor of the Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Prosecution Office, within the jurisdiction of the North Benghazi Court of First Instance, had reviewed the evidence document containing information related to the activity of bringing in a quantity of cocaine, which had been placed in two containers designated for preserving foodstuffs. So that its transportation to the city of Al-Bayda can be organized after its arrival from Ecuador to the port of Benghazi.

The investigator moved to the location of the two seized containers by the officers of the Benghazi Maritime Customs Center. So he established the state of things; Then he conducted a search, which resulted in the seizure of one hundred and twenty-eight kilograms of cocaine.

By completing the procedure for arresting and bringing a suspect; The investigator took the initiative to question him; He confessed to the fact that he belonged to an organized criminal group that had deliberately brought narcotic substances into the country and trafficked them more than once with the help of a customs guard officer, and thus the investigator decided to imprison the arrested accused. The officer conspiring with the organized criminal group; He directed the judicial police to prosecute the rest of those who contributed to the aforementioned incidents.

The incident took place on the third of this month of March, when the anti-narcotics services in Benghazi seized a quantity of (128) kilograms of narcotic cocaine, which was hidden in two containers designated for preserving foodstuffs, in preparation for transporting it to the city of Al-Bayda upon its arrival from the Republic of Ecuador.
