Two planes survived a head-on collision at an altitude of 35,000 feet

Colombo | SriLankan Airlines and British Airways planes escaped with their heads cut off. The incident took place on the Turkish air border. As soon as SriLankan Airlines flight UL504 entered Turkish airspace, the pilots were instructed to take off from 33,000 feet to 35,000 feet. The pilot of the Sri Lankan plane immediately realized that the British plane was flying at an altitude of 35,000 feet, just 15 miles away.

The matter was immediately reported to the Ankara Air Traffic Control in Turkey. Ankara Traffic Control twice instructed him to fly to 35,000 feet but the Sri Lankan pilot refused. Within minutes, Ankara Traffic Control announced that another plane was at 35,000 feet and that it should not take off. With this, the vigilance of the Sri Lankan pilot was realized. The British flight to Dubai had 250 passengers and the Sri Lankan flight 275 passengers.
