Police have arrested two relatives in connection with the abduction of an 11-year-old girl near Namakkal.

Saravanan hails from Kalichetti Patti near Erumappatti in Namakkal district. (Age 39). He lives with his wife and daughter-in-law in the terrace of Murugesan’s house. The lorry driver had been driving the truck for the past 2 months.
Saravanan’s wife and son’s daughter were sleeping on the terrace on the night of the 30th. At about one and a half o’clock in the morning, two masked men came and stabbed the wife and son with tape, tied their hands behind their backs and abducted their daughter. Then they took the SIM card from the cell phone they had.
Then on the afternoon of the 1st they called the owner of the house where they were staying and demanded Rs 50 lakh. Police have set up a special team to investigate the incident.
In this situation, at around 12 o’clock on the night of the 1st, they left the child near the petrol punk near the Alankanatham unit. They then informed the homeowner by phone.
Following this, Erumappatti police and the child’s parents went there and rescued the child. The police then handed the child over to the parents.
Police also arrested Saravanan’s relatives Manikandan (35) and his wife Ponnumani (27) from Pudukottai South Road.
They are also investigating from various angles as to whether they were kidnapped for money or for some other reason and whether anyone else was involved.
