Two robberies on the street in the city of Salzburg

by time news

First, in Stölzlpark in the Maxglan district, a 57-year-old Dutch man was threatened by three men with a gun and robbed of his wallet and smartphone. Then the suspects fled in different directions with their prey. Immediately after the attack, the victim reported the attack to the nearby police station.

In the course of the manhunt, in which a police helicopter was also involved, three suspects were arrested a little later. Police found the loot not far from the crime scene in the Glan. However, there was no trace of the murder weapon. The Salzburg public prosecutor ordered the arrest of the men – two Austrians and a stateless person aged 19 and 20 – and a house search of one of the alleged robbers. As the police informed, the investigation was not yet over.

In the early morning hours of Monday there was another attack in the Riedenburg district: two completely dark-clad and masked men threatened a 23-year-old with a gun and a knife and stole his wallet with 20 euros in it. The search for the duo has so far been negative.

The city SPÖ took the attack in Stölzlpark today as an opportunity to demand an improvement in the lighting in the park and a security inspection with the police and city officials. The park is very dark, poorly lit and therefore difficult to see.
