Corporación Favorita, El Rosado and the shrimp farm Santa Priscila lead the ranking of companies in the Super de Compañias, by sales in 2023.

The Corporación Favorita business group continues to lead the ranking of companies of the Superintendency of Companies, published in June 2024, with sales revenue data for 2023.

Favorita Corporation had a turnover of USD 2,483 million in 2023, an increase of 5% compared to 2022, and achieved a net profit of USD 165 million. Favorita carries out its economic activities in the commercial, real estate, industrial and services sectors, grouping 505 commercial premises, 14 shopping centers and 17 distribution centers and industrial plants, according to data published on its website.

Its flagship brand is the Supermaxi supermarket chain. It also owns shopping centres such as Mall del Sol and Mall del Norte in Guayaquil, and Mall El Jardín in Quito.

In second place in the ranking is Corporación El Rosado, Corporación Favorita’s main competitor. In 2023, El Rosado reached sales of USD 1,567 million, with an increase of 9.5% compared to 2022.

And a net profit of USD 38 million. The business group owns the supermarket chains Mi Comisariato and Hipermarket, and among its subsidiaries is Tiendas Tuti, which, being a separate company, is not included in its income.

He also owns toy store chains, department stores, hardware stores, movie theaters and shopping malls. He also represents American restaurant brands such as Chili’s, IHOP, Olive Garden, Carl’s Junior and Red Lobster in Ecuador.

In addition, it earned a net profit of USD 7.7 million. And in fifth place is the company Gisis, part of the multinational Nutreco, dedicated to animal feed. The ranking of the Superintendency of Companies is based on the financial statements that companies must submit by May of each year. As of June 27, 78% of the 153,206 active companies had submitted their balance sheets, the entity reported.
