On Thursday, two men were detained on suspicion of committing aggravated rape against children. The alleged crime was reported to have taken place in April 2011 on Ribergsborgstranden. Both men are currently in their 30s and were 18 when the incident occurred.

There was an earlier arrest in January this year, but it was not related to the rape investigation. The man was arrested along with another person on suspicion of aggravated assault. After being asked for DNA samples, the now-suspect’s DNA matched the traces found after the 12-year-old rape.

The two men detained on Wednesday are not linked to the abuse through their DNA. However, they are linked to the crime in other ways. For more news, check out DN’s Skåne editorial office.
