Two Undip Foreign Students Die in Accident in Semarang, Here’s What Happened

jpnn.comSEMARANG – Two foreign students from Diponegoro University (Undip) died after an accident on Jalan Dr. Wahidin, Semarang City, Central Java (Jateng), Saturday (7/9).

The accident occurred right in front of the Official Residence of the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Central Java Province, Candisari District, Semarang City at around 02.17 WIB.

The two victims were named Christophe Rahelison Jean (25) from the Republic of Madagascar, Africa, and Jean De Dieu Muhayimana (32) from the Republic of Rwanda, Africa.

“Yes, a single accident resulted in two foreign nationals dying,” said Semarang Police Chief Kombes Pol Irwan Anwar.

Kombes Irwan explained that the two of them were riding a Honda Beat motorbike with the police number B-3908-UJN.

“The vehicle was traveling from the north, Pasar Kambing to the south, Sisimangaraja. When crossing a curving road, it is suspected that it could not control the speed of its vehicle so that it swerved to the left and hit the sidewalk and an internet pole,” he said.

Both victims suffered serious head injuries and have now been taken to the morgue at Dr Kariadi General Hospital, Semarang City.

Meanwhile, Head of Traffic Law Enforcement Unit of Semarang Police, AKP Adji Setiawan, said that the two foreign students were studying in Semarang.
