«A week after the massacrewe are back.” Noor Pakhtsiarez, an employee of Beeri Printing Press, the oldest printing company in the country, does not hide his emotion. On Monday, the establishment, which is located in the heart of Kibbutz Beeri, decimated by a Hamas attack which left 112 victims, reopened its doors.

It is here, less than 5 kilometers from Gaza, that books, bank checks, driving licenses and other official forms are printed. Wearing a bulletproof vest, Israeli President Isaac Herzog made the trip to Beeri, deserted by his survivors, which had become an IDF fallback base. “Today we say to the whole world: ‘Nothing can break us.’ This printing house is a source of pride, the pride of Kibbutz Beeri,” declared the head of state.

The reopening, still partial, of the Beeri printing works illustrates the resilience of the Israeli economic fabric. For two weeks, start-ups and kibbutz, SMEs and multinationals have demonstrated their capacity…
