UPDATE 2 July: Sorry Norway – again… Ballinciaga replaces Tyla at Palmesus.

Ballinciaga instead of Tyla

The South African pop superstar has been forced to cancel the next two weeks of the tour. Apparently because of health. This means that Tyla will not appear on stage at Bystranda in central Kristiansand this summer. She announces this herself through Instagram.

“It is with great regret that I inform you that I will no longer be able to perform for the next 10 days, which affects the following festivals: Roskilde, Palmesus, Open’er, Saga and Montreux Jazz,” a writes Tyla.

“I’m doing physiotherapy at the moment and slowly I’m definitely able to do gigs consistently. Trust me to do everything possible to go on as many steps [som mulig] at the same time I become completely healthy. Thank you for your patience and understanding. I look forward to seeing you all again soon, stay safe and goodbye my Tygers.”

At the weekend, Tyla performed at the BET Awards in Los Angeles – and won the awards for best international artist and best new artist.

Updated March 7: Sorry Norwegian Tygers … Unfortunately, there will be no Tyla at Rockefeller in Norway on March 21st. Now the artist has news that her tour has been postponed due to an injury that has only worsened.

“In the last year I have suffered an injury which has tragically worsened. I’ve seen very hopeful doctors and specialists, but the pain has gotten worse and the situation has gotten more serious,” Tyla wrote in the statement she shared with her Tygers on Instagram.

“I’m heartbroken to say this, but as it is now I won’t be able to continue the tour”, explains the artist and writes that continuing concerts and festivals in the future will only make it worse .

It probably suits her just fine to postpone the tour while she releases her first album Silence in two weeks 🙂

According to Tyla’s statement, the plan is for her to be back on stage during the summer.
