Manila: Typhoon Nalgay wreaked havoc in the Philippines. Heavy rains and landslides killed 45 people in southern provinces. 14 people are missing. The death toll will rise. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council initially announced that the death toll was 72, but it was soon revised.

In the wake of Nalgay, the 16th typhoon to hit the Philippines this year, domestic flights were canceled. About 10,000 people were displaced. Rescue operations are continuing in the disaster-hit areas.

Nalgay made landfall in the Philippines on Friday with a speed of 75 kilometers per hour. It is estimated that around 185,000 people have been affected by Nalgae so far. Nalgay, moving towards the north, will cause heavy rains in the capital Manila.
