The number of victims from the severe Typhoon Yagi is rising, which has been impacting several countries in Asia over the last twenty-four hours, with at least 35 dead, 24 missing, and nearly 300 injured in northern Vietnam.

According to the new official toll, Typhoon Yagi, the strongest recorded in Asia this year, has left at least 24 dead and 299 injured in northern Vietnam, which was ravaged by landslides and floods, authorities announced late last night, warning of the risk of further flooding.

The typhoon, which previously hit China, made landfall over the northeastern coast of Vietnam on Saturday.

It caused power outages and disruptions to telecommunications networks in various areas of the country, especially in the provinces of Quang Ninh and Hai Phong, according to a government statement in Hanoi.
