Despite the humid climate and the fervent support given to their team by Indonesian supporters, Morocco managed to impose its rhythm from the start of the match.

The 4-2-3-1 tactical scheme adopted by coach Saïd Chiba allowed the Atlas Lion Cubs to dominate the midfield, reducing the space between the playing compartments and achieving fluid transitions.

Anas Alaoui almost allowed the national team to lead in the 3rd minute, when he controlled the ball in a pivot in the opposing penalty area before following up with a shot that missed the target.

Indonesia responded with a dangerous action from a corner, but Arkhan Purwanto’s shot failed to deceive the vigilance of goalkeeper Taha Benrhozil (11th).

The national eleven will return to the charge through right winger Ayman Ennair who serves Anas Alaoui in the penalty area, but the latter cannot put the ball in the back of the net (12th).

The same Anas Alaoui will return a minute later with a dangerous shot saved on the line by an Indonesian defender (13th).

In the 16th minute, Abdelhamid Maali drew a shot saved by Indonesian goalkeeper Ikram Al Giffari. A minute later, the same player overflows on the right flank, eliminates his opponent from a small bridge and delivers an impeccable cross for Anas Alaoui who misses the ball in front of the goal.

The Moroccans finally managed to break the deadlock thanks to a penalty whistled after a foul on Mohamed Hamony and realized by Anas Alaoui (29th).

Ten minutes later, Saïd Chiba’s protégés doubled the lead thanks to captain Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal who, from a corner, headed the ball into the back of the net (38th).

But in the 42nd minute and against the run of play, Indonesia managed to reduce the gap with a masterful free kick from Nabil Asyura, who wrong-footed the Moroccan keeper.

Upon returning from the locker room, the national eleven quickly regained control of the match through infiltrations from the sides via the trio Ennair, Maali and Hamony.

More technical, the Moroccans played the game and offered themselves opportunities to increase the score on several occasions, but sinned due to a lack of efficiency like Anas Alaoui who, alone in front of the goal, did not arrive unable to frame his header (61st).

The national team managed to seal the fate of this meeting with a third goal from Mohamed Hamouny, who received a bright pass from the tireless Abdelhamid Maali inside the penalty area and beat the Indonesian goalkeeper (64th).

In the other match counting for the third day of group A, Ecuador and Panama separated with a draw 1 – 1, a result which allows the Moroccan selection to recover first place in group A with 6 points .
