India get off to a winning start in the Under-19 Asia Cup. India started the tournament by defeating UAE by 154 runs. Batting first, the UAE were bowled out for 128 in 34.3 overs against India, who scored 282 for 5 in the allotted 50 overs. Harnoor Singh is India’s top scorer with 120 runs. Harnoor Singh and Sheikh Rashid combined for the second wicket to give India the lead, though Ankakrish lost Raghuvanshi (2) quickly. Sheikh Rashid (35) returned after a 90-run stand. Captain Yash Dhul joined Harnoor for the third wicket. The pair put on a formidable 120-run stand. With the departure of Harnoor, the alliance fell apart. Yash Dhul was dismissed for 63. Rajawardhan, who came in at number six, was the top scorer for India. He was unbeaten on 48 off 23 balls. UAE captain and Malayalee Alishan Sharafu took two wickets. Alishan was also the one who ran out Raghuvanshi.

In reply, the UAE could not challenge India at any stage. They lost wickets very quickly. A total of 4 people were able to cross the double in the UAE line. Their top scorer was opener Coy Smith with 45 runs. Surya Satheesh scored 21 runs. Alishan was out for 13 runs. Rajawardhan took three wickets for India. Garv Sangwan, Vicky Ostwal and Kaushal Tambe have two wickets each.
In another match, Pakistan won by 4 wickets against Afghanistan. Afghanistan were bowled out for just 52 while Pakistan won by 6 wickets in 16.4 overs. In the third match, Sri Lanka tied Kuwait for 274 runs. Batting first, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 493 in their first innings.
