The residency, which began in September 2023, also made headlines for its location: a futuristic space with approximately 20,000 seats, featuring an impressive spherical screen.
A concert film was made from those shows, directed by the band’s guitarist, The Edge, who jokes: “After so many years, I finally managed to see a U2 concert”. The peculiarity of this version of the film is the format Big Sky, developed specifically for the Sphere screen, which boasts nearly 15,000 square meters of display space.
“To offer spectators a faithful concert experience” is the declared goal of The Edge and his wife, the choreographer and dancer Morleigh Steinberg (already behind the camera for the video of Staring at the Sun). The pair assures that the result was a true collaboration between the band, the artists, the producers and the technological team.
“V-U2: An Immersive Concert Film at Sphere Las Vegas” is currently only visible at the Sphere, with tickets starting at 100 dollars. The first screening date is set for September 3. In the future, it is likely that the concert film will be released in other formats, but there is no official news about this yet.

Highlights of the performance at the Sphere included a version of Don’t Dream It’s Over of the Crowded House and the duet with Lady Gaga during which the band performed three songs: Shallow (from the soundtrack of A Star Is Born) and two classics from the repertoire, All I Want Is You e I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.
