UAE Covid Report: Kovid confirms 266 new recruits in UAE

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Health and Prevention today announced that 266 new cases of the Kovid 19 virus have been confirmed in the UAE. Today, 118 people who were undergoing treatment have recovered. No new Kovid deaths have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours.

A total of over 10.62 crore inspections have been carried out in the country. A total of 7,43,852 people have been diagnosed with the Kovid virus in the UAE so far. Of these, 7,38,505 have already been diagnosed. A total of 2,151 people have died of Kovid in the country. Currently, 3,196 Kovid patients are being treated in the country.

Four-year-old and expatriate housemaid found dead in swimming pool

Ras Al Khaimah: A four-year-old boy and an expatriate housemaid were found drowned in a swimming pool at a hotel in Rak Al Marid, Ras Al Khaimah. They arrived at the hotel four days ago with their family from Abu Dhabi. The deceased was a 23-year-old Ethiopian housemaid.

The bodies of one of the guests, who was staying on the second floor of the hotel, were found in the swimming pool around 8pm on Wednesday night when the incident took place. The hotel employee heard the screams and pulled the boy and girl out of the swimming pool. Hospital officials confirmed the deaths of the two, who were rushed to the hospital around 9 p.m.

The body of the boy was shifted to the Rak Zakhar Hospital Mortuary and the body of the young woman was shifted to the Rak Ubaidullah Hospital Mortuary. The accident happened when there was no access to the swimming pool. Lifeguards were not on the scene at the time. It is not clear how they got to the swimming pool. Authorities said the two were dead when they arrived at the scene and an investigation has been launched.
