UAE Covid Report: More than a thousand new Kovid cases in the UAE today

Abu Dhabi: The number of new covid cases in the UAE is on the rise. Today, 1,352 people have been diagnosed with the disease, according to the Ministry of Health and Prevention. In the last 24 hours, 506 patients who were being treated recovered (covid recoveries). A cowid death has been reported in the country.

New patients were identified from 3,61,321 newly tested patients. A total of over 10.82 crore inspections have been carried out in the country. A total of 747,909 people have been diagnosed with the Kovid virus in the UAE so far. Of these, 740,122 have already been diagnosed. A total of 2,155 people in the country have died of Kovid infection. There are currently 5,632 Kovid patients being treated in the country.

Passengers from four countries are barred from entering the UAE

Abu Dhabi: The UAE has imposed an entry ban on travelers from four African countries. The UAE has banned travelers from Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Nigeria.

Transit travelers who have visited these countries for the past 14 days are also banned. Meanwhile, flights from the UAE to these countries will continue to operate as scheduled. The decision was taken by the National Emergency Management Authority in consultation with the General Civil Aviation Authority. The decision will take effect on Saturday, December 25 from 7.30pm, the National Disaster Management Authority said. This brings to 11 the number of African countries that have been barred from entering the UAE. The UAE had earlier banned flights from South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Swatini, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Mozambique in the wake of Omikron.
