UAE-Oman travel time will be reduced to 47 minutes Dubai: With the start of train service connecting Abu Dhabi and Oman’s port city of Suhar, the travel time between the two countries will be reduced sharply. State-of-the-art passenger trains traveling at a maximum speed of 200 km/h will run on the 303 km long track. This will reduce the travel time from Zuhar to Abu Dhabi by one hour and 40 minutes and the travel time from Zuhar to Al Ain by 47 minutes. Freight trains will run at a speed of up to 120 km per hour on the same route. It is estimated that 225 million tons of bulk cargo and 282,000 containers can be delivered in a year.
There is a length of 192 km between the city of Suhar on the northern coast of Oman and the capital Muscat. The coming of the railway will also increase tourism opportunities between the two countries. It is also expected to increase foreign investment in the region.
