The UAE considered that establishing security and stability and ending the human suffering of the Palestinians begins with establishing a temporary international mission at the official invitation of a new, efficient and credible Palestinian government, with the powers to achieve an effective response to the crisis suffered by the residents of the Gaza Strip, and to work to establish law and order.

The UAE Foreign Ministry quoted Minister of State for International Cooperation, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, as saying that the mission should also be entrusted with laying the foundations for a qualified government that paves the way for the unification of the West Bank and Gaza Strip under one legitimate Palestinian authority.

The UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation expressed her country’s readiness to play its role as part of a sustainable effort to resolve the conflict on the basis of the two-state solution in partnership with relevant regional and international parties, stressing the UAE’s continued humanitarian support for the Palestinian people.

Regarding the establishment of the proposed temporary international mission in the Gaza Strip, the Emirati minister stressed that it must be at the official invitation of the Palestinian government, led by a new prime minister with high competence, credibility and independence, and working transparently in accordance with the highest international standards, to deal with the necessary reforms to meet the challenges facing the Palestinian people.
